Multinuclear solid-state high resolution and [13.sup.C]-{[27.sup.Al]} double- resonance magic angle spinning NMR studies on aluminum alkoxides
Article Abstract:
Multinuclear solid-state high resolution and [13.sup.C]-{[27.sup.Al]} transfer of population in double- resonance (TRAPDOR), magic angle spinning and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) studies were used to study aluminum alkoxides. The [13.sup.C]-{[27.sup.Al]} TRAPDOR experiments showed the aluminum-carbon dipolar couplings for the alkoxide compounds with Al-O-C connectivities and distinguished between terminal and bridging carbons in aluminum alkoxide structures.

Single-pulse MAS, selective Hahn echo MAS< and 3QMAS NMR studies of the mineral zoisite at 400, 500, 600 and 800 Mhz. Exploring the limits of AI NMR detectability
Article Abstract:
The study of various materials having well defined sites experiencing large quadrupolar interactions is of particular interest in view of the discussion of 'NMR-invisible' aluminium reported in NMR studies of catalytic materials. The results show that the signal of extremely distorted AIO6 site in zoisite can be readily observed in MAS spectra obtained with fields of at least 11.7 T and spinning speeds over 30 kHz.

Structuring analysis of a melaminium polyphosphate from X-ray powder diffraction and solid-state NMR data
Article Abstract:
Direct-space global optimization technique is used to determine the crystal structure of the environmentally friendly flame retardant melaminium polyphosphate (MPoly)(2,4,6,-triamino-1,3,5-triazinium.PO3)(sub n). An analysis of the crystal structure of MPoly shows aspects of molecular geometry and packing that are characteristic for melamine-containing compounds and polyphosphate salts.
